Does SwapGun hold my money?

Accepted Answer

No. We are a comparison tool. You send the coins straight to the deposit address generated by the provider you chose, and the provider sends the result straight to your wallet. We never hold funds.

Do I need an account?

Accepted Answer

No. You only enter the wallet address that will receive the coins. Some providers may request identity verification (KYC) in specific cases, under their own policies.

How does SwapGun make money?

We take part in the providers' affiliate programs, which may pay us a commission on completed swaps. When we add our own fee on top of a quote, it is shown before you confirm.

What is the difference between a fixed and a floating rate?

With a floating rate, the final amount follows the market until the swap is executed and may go up or down. With a fixed rate, the provider locks the amount for a limited time, usually at a slightly higher cost.

Is the amount shown exactly what I will receive?

It is an estimate reported by the provider. With a floating rate it may change. The network fee your wallet charges when you send is not included.

How long does it take?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the network and the provider. When the provider reports it, we show the estimated time on each offer. Blockchain confirmations may take longer when the network is congested.

What if something goes wrong?

Accepted Answer

Keep the swap ID. If the deposit falls outside the limits or the swap fails, the provider usually refunds to the refund address, if you entered one. Support is handled by the provider that executed the swap, and we help route your request.

I sent on the wrong network. What now?

Accepted Answer

Blockchain transactions are irreversible. Contact the provider's support with the swap ID and the transaction hash. Recovery is not always possible, so double-check the currency and the network before sending.
